What is the Mechanical Licensing Collective.
The Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC), which was created as part of the Music Modernization Act of 2018, is responsible for providing and administering Mechanical Licenses for streaming and download services.
Audible Magic acts as a middleman between the MLC and customer, reporting on behalf of our customers who have a license.

Customer Reporting Structure
We do not have a license with the MLC, but we report on behalf of our customer's licenses. Audible Magic provides monthly reports to the MLC for our customers usage which is then used to pay out the Mechanical Licenses. This means that new customers who plan to report download and subscription usage on our content fulfillment platform will have to register with the MLC to obtain a license.
